This profession exists across many fields of services in Malaysia, such as healthcare, government bodies, academics, research, and the private sector.

3rd October 2024, Thursday, Malaysian Science Officers Association (PPSM) was invited to attend Budget 2025 Engagement Session with the Deputy Minister of Finance, alongside Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals. The event took place at 9:00 AM in Meeting Room 1, Allied Health Science Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
Representing PPSM was its President, Ts. Nik Mohamed Hazmi Bin Nik Hussain, who presented proposals and suggestions regarding the role of science officers in the upcoming Budget 2025. PPSM highlighted the importance of enhancing the capabilities and expertise of science officers within the healthcare sector, and suggested strategies to further strengthen the contribution of science to the nation's healthcare system.
This engagement session provided an important platform for PPSM to ensure that the voice and interests of science officers are acknowledged in the budget planning process, in line with the country's objective to improve the quality of healthcare services in Malaysia.

We are proud and honored to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the remarkable individuals who were appointed as Honorary Fellows of the Malaysian Association of Science Officers (PPSM) during the National-Level Meeting for the Science Officer and Medical Laboratory Scientist Professions held on 26 August 2024 at the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI).
